Covid-19 Hiwinui Needs You. How can you help?

Kia ora to our Hiwinui Community.

No doubt we are all following Covid-19 and are working through what impact there is on us (aside from having four weeks at home with kids!).
http://www.covid19.govt.nz  is the government’s website for up to date information and advice.

Volunteers needed:

As a community, we want to make sure we are able to support each other as best as possible. We are looking for people who are able to assist with things that we take for granted in day to day life. Some of our community will be fully self isolating for a variety of reasons and may need assistance in some way, such as picking up groceries or medications. If you are in a position to provide assistance please email help@hiwinui.org.nz or Direct Message on Facebook with your details and we’ll be working to connect with people in our community who may need assistance, of course noting the requirement for physical distancing and self isolation.

Do you know someone that may need some help?

If you know of someone who may be in need of assistance, please get in touch. We are establishing a database of people who we would like to check in on from time to time (phone call not visit) to make sure they’re able to get the support they need.

You can also list people or yourselves with the Manawatu District Neighbourhood Support – they are compiling a database of over 70 year olds and/or vulnerable persons in each area who may need additional support (we can help with this on help@hiwinui.org.nz).

Please take this time to check in with your neighbours (from the approved distance!), follow the official advice, and stay well.
